Gamma is

Science-based
targets provide a clearly-defined pathway for companies to reduce greenhouse
gas (GHG) emissions, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change and
future-proof business growth.

We strive to minimize the impact of our operations and products on the natural world and environment.

Environmental Mission:

  • We will protect our planet, driving down our absolute greenhouse emissions from all aspects of our business over the entire lifecycle of our products, guided by science
  • We will built a culture of organisational and personal responsibility for reducing our impact on the climate
  • We apply technology, products and services that preserve the environment for future generations
  • We implement a lifecycle perspective, focused on resource efficiency and reducing pollution to a minimum

Achievements:

  • 100% renewable energy, reducing CO2 emission by over 550 tons since April 2018.
  • Facility Temperature efficiencies improvements.
  • EV charging station.
  • LED motion sensing lights.
  • Over 25,000 plastic bottles saved
  • Replace disposable utensils and plates with sustainable, metal and ceramic alternatives.

Ion Pumps:

  • Low energy consumption, a 75 l/s ion pump consumes ~8W @1E-6 mbar and just ~ 1 mW @ 1E-10 mbar
  • Long life, ~ 6 years @ 10-6 mbar and much longer at lower pressures as the cathode consumption is related to pressure. In some particle accelerators ion pumps are used for more than 30 years continuously without maintenance!
  • Recyclable, ion pumps are primarily build using metals like iron, stainless steel, Titanium, Copper and some ceramics. All materials that can be recycled easily, no plastics or other fossil-based materials.

Water for All - Water changes lives

Employees of Gamma Vacuum support Water for All funds projects which empower people through access to clean drink water, sanitation and hygiene.
Since 1984 we have reached millions of people worldwide.

We evaluate products, services, processes, and major changes from a SHE perspective while focusing on risks and opportunities. We will comply with all applicable legal and other requirements wherever we operate. We are committed to continually improving our SHE standards and performance.
